- The Bull is a family run Hotel sited on the Main Street of the market town of Sedbergh.We cater for family and business people alike. Conferences, Wedding Receptions, Buffets and other Functions are also catered for at The Bull Hotel.The Langdale and Winder Bars offer aselection of Whitbread's Traditional Beers along with Bar Meals or Grills. There is a large Beer Garden and Morning Coffee is available every day. We have a small Meeting Room for up to 20 people, and there is a separate Residents TV Lounge.Childrens meals are served Lunch Time and Early Evening.Hazel has checked the hotel's history back to 1600; it was an old coaching Inn on the Kendal to Scotch Corner road, connecting the west of England with the east. Sedbergh was once a very busy market town with a thriving Wool and Cotton industry, as well as its famous boys school.The 'Winder Bar' named after the hill behind the hotel used to be the Old Vicars house not a vicarage. The Dinning room used to be a Blacksmiths and the Car park used to be a blacksmiths and old stable block, unfortunately, this has long being demolished.The BBC TV series 'House Detectives' has shown the Chemist Shop on several occasions, this is directly opposite the hotel.The hotel has a good local trade, with very friendly locals, Hazel comments 'the locals will talk to anyone'.
