Elmesthorpe is conveniently situated between the M1 and M6, within easy travelling distance of Leicester, Coventry and Birmingham.This is the perfect location for visiting many sites in the Midlands. The National Diving centre, Stoney Cove is just 3 miles away and Mallory Park, the home of Motor Racing is 6 miles away. The historical town of Market Bosworth is 11 miles along the A447. Not far from the town is the site of the Battle of Bosworth Field where, in 1485, King Richard III was defeated by Henry Tudor in the last battle of the war of the roses. More leisure facilities are also located in Market Bosworth, a water park provides a venue for windsurfing and Bosworth Fields Golf Club is available at a reduced green fee to residents. A short distance from Bosworth is Shackerstone Railway, second only to Loughborough's Great Central Railway in steam engines. Further a field, a good day trip takes in Warwick Castle and Shakespeare's birthplace, Stratford-on-avon.
