Minutes ahead you can find out what it was like in the canal's heyday at the Erie Canal Aqueduct Park. Head further out and visit one of the many wineries the region has become known for. If you are into great scenery, stop by one of the many nearby lakes and have a look. If you are in the mood for a walk, the Appalachian Trail is just a ½ mile away. If you want to see auto racing at its best you can drive down to Watkins Glen to see the big boys run or stay closer in and see some real door to door driving at one of the many nearby race tracks.
